Friday, March 11:
London Knights (32-26-4-1) @ Guelph Storm (31-26-4-3) - Tied for seventh in Western Conference (69 points). Huge battle for the bottom two seeds in the West, should be an emotional, spirited battle.
Players to watch:
LONDON: Ryan Rupert, C: 34GP, 8G, 15A, 23Pts, +3, 23PIM. Rookie had a great month in Feb, promising secondary producer.
GUELPH: Michael Latta, C: 64GP, 33G, 51A, 84Pts, 11PPG, 156PIM. Having solid season while battling for league lead in PIM. Underrated Nashville prospect.
Owen Sound Attack (41-17-1-4) @ Kitchener Rangers (38-17-4-4) - Battle for first place in the Midwest Division and Western Conference.
Players to watch:
OWEN SOUND: Andrew Shaw, C: 62GP, 21G, 29A, 50Pts, +15, 128PIM. Having career season while keeping his penalty minutes up. Underrated secondary pest.
KITCHENER: Jerry D'Amigo, LW: 16GP, 8G, 13A, 21Pts, +11, 3PPG. Leafs prospect making impact upon arrival to Kit.
Oshawa Generals (36-17-4-6) @ Kingston Frontenacs (28-27-4-4) - Possible first round playoff match-up, good test for both teams to prepare for the post-season. Kingston would like to come out with the upset.
Players to watch:
OSHAWA: Christian Thomas, RW: 61GP, 49G, 39A, 88Pts, 14PPG, +18. One away from 50, would be second player to Tyler Toffoli to reach 50 this season. Exciting to watch.
KINGSTON: Taylor Doherty, D: 63GP, 13G, 38A, 51Pts, 78PIM. San Jose Sharks prospect having solid year as physical, offensive defenseman. Could see him in a few NHL games next season.
Saturday, March 12:
Kitchener Rangers (38-17-4-4) @ Erie Otters (36-26-1-1) - Divisional battle, important for Erie as they are just one point behind the Plymouth Whalers in the Western Conference.
Players to watch:
KITCHENER: Tyler Randell, RW: 63GP, 20G, 10A, 30Pts, 153PIM. 20 goals for a guy battling for league lead in PIM - pretty damn impressive.
ERIE: Greg McKegg, C: 62GP, 46G, 41A, 87Pts, 15PPG, +20. Four away from 50, still possible but needs a multi-goal game to relieve the pressure.
London Knights (32-26-4-1) @ Owen Sound Attack (41-17-1-4) - Possible first round playoff match-up. Points important for both teams as London and Guelph in a battle for seventh, and Owen Sound needs to maintain their lead on Kitchener.
Players to watch:
LONDON: Vladislav Namestnikov, C: 63GP, 27G, 37A, 64Pts, 9PPG, +13. No surprise here.
OWEN SOUND: Andrew Fritsch, LW: 58GP, 27G, 34A, 61Pts, 10PPG, +16. Draft eligable having breakout season.
Sunday, March 13:
Barrie Colts (14-46-2-2) @ Brampton Battalion (27-29-1-6) - Important game for Brampton who look to maintain lead on Sudbury and gain on Kingston, and In the O host Brandon Sudeyko will be on RogersTV during first intermission.
Players to watch:
BARRIE: Eric Locke, C: 61GP, 24G, 27A, 51Pts, 30PIM. Four points in his last four games.
BRAMPTON: Philip Lane, RW: 49GP, 14G, 16A, 30Pts, +1, 98PIM. Had a solid game Thurs. vs Niagara, could be a key contributor for BRA come playoffs.
Mississauga St. Michael's Majors (48-13-0-2) @ Ottawa 67's (42-19-1-2) - Battle between the top two teams in the Eastern Conference. Good test for both clubs as they may eventually meet in the playoffs.
Players to watch:
MISSISSAUGA: Stuart Percy, D: 59GP, 3G, 27A, 30Pts, +47, 50PIM. Draft eligable d-man second in league in +/-. Solid offensive defenseman.
OTTAWA: Sean Monohan, C: 61GP, 17G, 23A, 40Pts, +19, 32PIM. Rookie having solid season, seven points in last four games (six goals).
