With 27 games in the OHL this week, there are a number of interesting matchups.
Wednesday night sees division rivals Oshawa and Belleville in action at the Yardmen Arena. Both teams have will be looking to bounce back from mediocre starts to the season in an early division matchup.
Thursday sees two of the top ten teams (as of week 2 of the season) in the country in action. Second ranked London will be in Niagara to take on the Ice Dogs, while tenth ranked Mississauga travels to the BMC to face a Barrie Colts team that has had a good start to the season.
Friday is the busiest day of the week with 9 games on the schedule. Interesting matchups include the Majors taking on the Greyhounds, and the Peterbourgh Petes, who have surprised many with three straight wins, travelling to Ottawa to play the 67’s.
On Saturday, we have a few divisional matchups to look forward to. Niagara faces the Colts in a Central division matchup, Owen Sound meets Erie in a Midwest tilt, and Kingston and Belleville will face off in a battle of the basement game in the East.
To go along with your turkey on Sunday, Ottawa versus Plymouth promises to be a great matchup with two of the highest regarded teams in the offseason facing off as they look to gather momentum early in the season.
As an added bonus this week, we are treated to five Monday games, with the Majors heading to Brampton in a game that could be the game of the week. If you are in the Toronto area, I recommend heading to the Powerade Centre to check this one out.
